1. About these Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your relationship with Get Connected Training ("we", "us", "our") as a student, prospective student, employer-sponsor or website visitor. They apply to all enrolments, course bookings, training services and use of our website at getconnectedtraining.com.au.

By enrolling in a course, making a booking, or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are enrolling on behalf of another person (for example, as an employer), you confirm that you have authority to bind that person to these Terms.

Our Privacy Policy and any specific course information sheets form part of these Terms.

2. About us

Get Connected Training is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO No. 45401) based at 59 Lawnton Pocket Road, Lawnton QLD 4501. We deliver nationally recognised training and assessment under the Standards for RTOs 2015 and are regulated by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).

  • "USI" means Unique Student Identifier as defined under the Student Identifiers Act 2014 (Cth).
  • "RTOPilot" means the third-party booking and enrolment platform we use to manage course enrolments.

4. Enrolment and bookings

4.1 Booking a course

Courses can be booked through our website (via the RTOPilot embedded booking system), by telephone, or by email. A booking is only confirmed once payment (or an approved purchase order) has been received and we have issued a written confirmation.

4.2 Eligibility

To enrol you must:

  • Meet any prerequisites or entry requirements published for the Course.
  • Be at least the minimum age stated for the Course (generally 18 for high-risk work licence courses).
  • Have, or be willing to apply for, a USI.
  • Provide accurate evidence of identity in accordance with our identification requirements.
  • Have sufficient language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete the Course, or accept the support arrangements we offer.
  • Be physically capable of safely performing the practical components of the Course.

We reserve the right to decline an enrolment where eligibility cannot be confirmed.

4.3 USI requirement

We cannot issue a nationally recognised qualification or statement of attainment without a verified USI. You must provide your USI before completion of the Course.

5. Fees, payment and refunds

5.1 Course fees

Course fees are as published on our website or in your written quote at the time of booking. Fees are stated in Australian Dollars (AUD). Nationally accredited training delivered by us is GST-free under section 38-85 of the A New Tax System (Goods and Services Tax) Act 1999 (Cth). Any non-accredited services (such as administration fees, replacement certificates, or VOC services that fall outside an accredited course) are inclusive of GST where applicable. We reserve the right to update fees at any time; the fee that applies to your enrolment is the one published or quoted at the time of confirmed booking.

5.2 Payment terms

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place.
  • Payments are processed through RTOPilot and/or our nominated payment provider.
  • For Sponsor-paid enrolments, an approved purchase order or written confirmation is required; invoices are payable within 14 days of invoice date.
  • We are not obliged to commence training until cleared payment has been received.

5.3 Refund policy

The following refund schedule applies to course cancellations or transfers requested by the Student:

  • More than 7 days before course start date: full refund, less a $50 administration fee.
  • Between 3 and 7 days before course start date: 50% refund OR transfer to another scheduled date within 12 months at no additional charge.
  • Less than 3 days before course start date, or non-attendance ('no show'): no refund. A transfer may be granted at our discretion and may incur a fee.
  • After commencement: no refund for fees already paid for training delivered. Pro-rata refunds may be considered in exceptional circumstances at our discretion.

All refund requests must be made in writing to info@getconnectedtraining.com.au and will be processed within 14 business days of approval.

5.4 Cancellation or rescheduling by us

We may cancel or reschedule a Course in circumstances including insufficient enrolments, trainer unavailability, venue issues, or events beyond our reasonable control. Where we cancel or reschedule, you may choose between a full refund of fees paid for the affected Course or a transfer to an alternative date at no extra cost. We are not liable for any other costs you may incur (such as travel, accommodation, or loss of income).

5.5 Statutory rights

Nothing in this Policy excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) that cannot be lawfully excluded.

6. Course delivery

6.1 Training and assessment

We will deliver training and assessment in accordance with the relevant nationally accredited training package, the Standards for RTOs 2015, and our scope of registration. Course information sheets describe the structure, delivery mode, assessment methods and expected duration of each Course.

6.2 Attendance

You must attend all scheduled sessions and arrive on time. Late arrival or non-attendance may result in you being unable to complete the Course, with no refund payable.

6.3 Personal protective equipment (PPE)

Some Courses require you to supply and wear specific PPE (for example, steel-capped boots, hi-vis clothing, hard hat). Required PPE will be communicated to you prior to your Course. Students without correct PPE may be refused entry to practical components, with no refund.

6.4 Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and credit transfer

You may apply for RPL or credit transfer where you have existing skills, knowledge or qualifications relevant to the Course. Applications are assessed individually. RPL fees may apply and are separate from Course fees.

7. Student responsibilities and code of conduct

As a Student, you agree to:

  • Behave respectfully toward trainers, assessors, fellow students and members of the public.
  • Comply with all reasonable directions of trainers and assessors, including all workplace health and safety instructions.
  • Not attend training under the influence of alcohol or illicit drugs.
  • Not engage in bullying, harassment, discrimination or violence of any kind.
  • Provide truthful and accurate information during enrolment and assessment.
  • Refrain from cheating, plagiarism, or collusion in any assessment.
  • Notify us promptly of any medical condition, injury, or other factor that may affect your ability to safely participate in training.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your enrolment for serious or repeated breaches of this Code of Conduct, with no refund.

8. Assessment, results and certificates

You must be assessed as competent in all required units to receive a qualification or statement of attainment. If you are assessed as not yet competent, we will offer reasonable opportunities for reassessment in accordance with our Assessment Policy. Additional reassessment fees may apply.

Statements of attainment and certificates will be issued within 30 days of successful completion, provided all fees have been paid and a verified USI has been provided.

Replacement certificates can be requested at any time and may attract a reissue fee.
