Trim and cut Felled Trees

About the course
This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to safely and efficiently trim and cut felled trees using a chainsaw. Covering unit FWPCOT2273, participants will learn proper limbing and bucking techniques, how to cut timber to required specifications, and how to work safely in forestry and land clearing environments.
Throughout this 4-hour course, participants will develop a strong understanding of workplace health and safety obligations, correct body positioning, and hazard identification when working with felled timber. The course is suitable for individuals working or seeking to work in forestry, arboriculture, land management, or vegetation clearing roles.

Entry requirements
What to bring
To participate safely in this course, all participants are required to arrive with the following personal protective equipment (PPE) and items:
- Steel-capped boots (mandatory)
- Chainsaw-protective chaps or trousers (mandatory)
- Hard hat with integrated face shield
- Hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs)
- Cut-resistant gloves
- High-visibility vest
- Long-sleeved shirt and long pants
- Sunscreen and adequate water
- Any required personal medication
Participants who do not arrive with the required PPE may be unable to take part in practical components of the course.
